136 – Tell me about your family

¿Tienes hermanos y hermanas?

  • Abuelo – Grandfather
  • Abuela – Grandmother
  • Nieto – Grandson
  • Nieta – Granddaughter
  • Nieto/a – Grandchild
  • Nietos y nietas – Grandchildren
  • Bisabuelo – Great grandfather
  • Bisabuela – Great grandmother
  • Padre – Father
  • Madre – Mother

  • Hija – Daughter
  • Hermanos (en general, varones y mujeres) – Siblings
  • Hermano – Brother
  • Hermana – Sister

Tell me about your family.

¿Listos? Ready? Let’s listen. Vamos a escuchar.

Tell me about your family

I grew up in a medium-sized family. My grandfather on my mother’s side had twelve siblings, but I only have three.

I am the oldest child in my family. I have a brother who is younger than I am, and two sisters who are younger than us.

My brother works in fishing and forestry. He is married to a woman from Venezuela.

My oldest sister works as a caretaker and my younger sister as a nurse. She worked as a police officer before, but she changed jobs later.

My father is a town planning director and my mother is a housewife. She studied as a nurse when she was younger. My father is from Toronto and my mother grew up here, in Nova Scotia.

I am also married to a Venezuelan woman and I have a young son. My son is the oldest grandchild in my family. I will talk more about them in another podcast!

That’s a little bit about my family. How about yours?
